South Africa 2006

From 2 until the 24th of August 2006 we have been in South Africa. It took us more than a year to discuss with members of the South African Weimaraner Club, how to set up a new hunting line. The semen of a son of Bogëi from England goes to South Africa and we brought 2 puppies, a dog and a bitch, from a good hunting line. The breeders are Theo and Marian Versteegen. The female Cameo is for Renée and Lynette and the male Carlito is for Martina. In future, Cameo can be inseminated by the semen from England and than they they have a complete new hunting line in South Africa.

We had a fantastic holiday and visited many owners of Weimaraners. One day we went hunting with Thys Maritz. The Wingshooting is in Clarens, a beautiful area in the mountains and the dogs of Thys showed us excellent work in the field! You can hunt at Francolin, Guinea Fowl, Quail, Rock Pigeon and all kind of other species.

Also we went with members of the South African club in the field to see how their Weimaraners work. There were lots of Guinea Fowls and also Francolin. D-D is a Weimaraner of Mrs. Renée Minny and she pointed wonderful.

At August 20th there was the Qualifying Show of the Weimaraner Klub of Gauteng. The club excisted 25 year. The judge came from England: Mrs. Beate-Ils Freiin von Dwingelo-Lütten. Best in Show became the dog GERCA COM VA VA VOOM owner Mrs. Carine Buitendach and Reserve best in Show became the bitch SABAKA MIST LIBERTY OF STAHLBERG owners Mr. Ray and Mrs. Lilian Taylor.

After the clubmatch, the puppies were judged!
